(German/English) 1.2. -7.2.2022: Mahnwachen und andere Aktionen für Leonard Peltier in Europa/Vigils and other activities for Leonard Peltier in Europe in the time between February 1st and 7th 2022

Am 6.2.2022 jährt sich die Verhaftung des indigenen politischen Gefangenen Leonard Peltier. Seit dieser Zeit sitzt der 77jährige Peltier in Haft, konkret in Hochsicherheitshaft. Anlässlich des Beginns seines 47. Haftjahres finden rund um diesen Termin zahlreiche Straßenaktionen statt.

Auf Initiative von AIM-Mitglied David Hill sollen am Montag, dem 7.2.2022 weltweit vor möglichst vielen US-Generalkonsulaten und -botschaften Mahnwachen stattfinden. Wir werden versuchen auch hier in Europa an diesem Tag sowie den Tagen davor einige Aktionen zu starten, diese aufeinander abzustimmen und zu dokumentieren.

6.2.2022 marks the anniversary of the arrest of indigenous political prisoner Leonard Peltier. Since that time, the 77-year-old Peltier has been in custody, specifically in maximum security detention. To mark the beginning of his 47th year in prison, numerous street actions will take place around this date.

On the initiative of AIM member David Hill, vigils are to be held worldwide in front of as many US Consulates General and Embassies as possible on Monday 7.2.2022. We will also try to start some actions here in Europe on this day and the days before, to coordinate and document them.
