Das Parole Board Hearing findet nach aktueller Info am 10. Juni 2024 statt. Dies ist nach dem negativem Bescheid von 2009 der neue mögliche Termin. Parole bedeutet dabei so viel wie Freilassung auf Bewährung (vor allem aus humanitären Gründen). Nach dem Hearing kann es bis zu einem Monat dauern, bis die Entscheidung bekannt gegeben wird.
Beide Anwaltbüros, sowohl das von Kevin Sharp als auch von Jenipher Jones (als Vertreterin des Official Leonard Peltier Ad Hoc Committes) bereiten das Hearing vor, allerdings von einander unabhängig.
Wie ihr unterstützen könnt, findet ihr ausführlich im zweiten Teil unseres oben genannten Blogs wieder. Mittlerweile sind erste Einzelpersonen aber auch Organisationen aus Europa unserem Aufruf gefolgt un d haben an die US-Parole Commission einen Brief geschrieben und uns die Kopie zugeschickt. Wir werden diese Kopien an beide Anwaltbüros rechtzeitig weiterleiten. Also an dieser Stelle nochmals: sowohl Einzelpersonen als auch Organisationen können Briefe schreiben. Natürlich finden offizielle Briefköpfe von Organisationen wie GfbV, AI, European Alliance for the Self Determination of Indigenous PeopleS, the EUROPE FOR PELTIER 2024 COALITION und deren Mitgliedsprojekte besondere Beachtung. In unserem o.g. Text findet ihr Anregungen für Formulierungen, Argumente, Adressen sowie den Link zu einem Übersetzungsprogramm.
Bitte sammelt weiterhin Unterschrtiften und ladet bei uns diese Listen auf der Website runter. Wir senden diese Woche erneut 332 Unterschriften an das Weiße Haus, an die US Parole Commission sowie beide Anwaltbüros. Vor uns liegen nun Tage und Wochen intensiven Engagements. Wir brauchen eure Unterstützung dabei. Bitte macht mit und bitte spendet uns, denn Kopien aber vor allem die Post in die USA werden sehr teuer. According to the latest information, the Parole Board Hearing will take place on 10 June 2024. This is the new possible date following the negative decision in 2009. Parole means release on parole (mainly for humanitarian reasons). After the hearing, it can take up to a month before the decision is announced.
Both lawyers’ offices, that of Kevin Sharp and that of Jenipher Jones (representing the Official Leonard Peltier Ad Hoc Committee) are preparing the hearing, but independently of each other.

In the meantime, the first individuals and organisations from Europe have responded to our call and have written a letter to the US Parole Commission and sent us a copy. We will forward these copies to both lawyers’ offices in good time. So here again: both individuals and organisations can write letters. Of course, official letterheads from organisations such as GfbV, AI, European Alliance for the Self Determination of Indigenous PeopleS, the EUROPE FOR PELTIER 2024 COALITION and their member projects will receive special attention. Please continue to collect signatures and download these lists from our website. This week we are sending another 332 signatures to the White House, the US Parole Commission and both lawyers’ offices. We now have days and weeks of intensive engagement ahead of us. We need your support. Please join us and please donate, because copies and especially the postage to the USA will be very expensive. We are also supporting the lawyers with donations and this year’s Oglala Commemoration Day (26 June 2024) in the Pine Ridge Reservation.

Secondo le ultime informazioni, l’udienza del Parole Board si terrà il 10 giugno 2024. Questa è la nuova data possibile dopo la decisione negativa del 2009. Parole significa rilascio sulla parola (principalmente per motivi umanitari). Dopo l’udienza, può passare anche un mese prima che venga annunciata la decisione.

Naturalmente, le lettere ufficiali di organizzazioni come GfbV, AI, Alleanza Europea per l’Autodeterminazione dei Popoli Indigeni, la COALIZIONE EUROPA PER PELTIER 2024 e i loro progetti membri riceveranno un’attenzione particolare. Continuate a raccogliere le firme e scaricate le liste dal nostro sito web. Questa settimana invieremo altre 332 firme alla Casa Bianca, alla Commissione per la libertà vigilata degli Stati Uniti e agli uffici dei due avvocati. Ci aspettano giorni e settimane di intenso impegno. Abbiamo bisogno del vostro sostegno.
